A birthday postcard, made from your photo
Paper Plane Post is the easiest way to send a birthday card that means something. Pick a photo of the two of you, write a note, and add their address. We print it on a real 4 × 6 postcard and mail it first class for $7, postage included, to any of 195 countries.
It arrives in 1–2 weeks in the US, plus up to 1 week if abroad, so order two weeks before the birthday for a US address and three weeks before for one abroad.
Easy: three steps, no account
Upload a photo from your phone or computer and frame it the way you want it. Type your note, up to 350 characters, and add their address. You see both sides exactly as they’ll print, then pay. There’s no app to install, no account to make and no subscription.
Fast: done in the time it takes to write the note
Nothing needs setting up, so the only slow part is deciding what to say. We print the card and hand it to USPS within 2 business days.
Cards can’t be scheduled for a later date; each one prints right after you pay. So the order date is what you control: two weeks ahead in the US, three weeks abroad. A card that lands a few days early still gets read on the day.
Tasteful: their photo, not a cartoon cake
The front of the card is your photo, printed edge to edge on heavy gloss stock, with nothing added: no balloons, borders or stock greetings. If you want something more made, you can print an illustrated version of the photo instead.
The photos that work best are the ones only you could send: the two of you on a trip, last year’s party, a picture of them as a kid, the dog they miss. For a milestone birthday, an old photo from the year you met tends to mean more than a recent one.
Timeless: the card they keep
A text is gone by the afternoon. A photo postcard with a few lines on the back goes on the fridge, and then into a drawer with the other things worth keeping.
You have about three or four sentences, so say one specific thing. Name the memory in the photo, or say what you’re looking forward to doing together this year. If you’re stuck, start with where the photo was taken: “Remember this? Happy birthday. Same place next summer.”
